ABOUT ME
My journey to being a massage therapist began only 2 years ago. A close family member was advised that they would benefit from regular therapeutic massage. Knowing that they were unlikely to arrange that for themselves, I wondered if I could learn.
I love a challenge and was soon signed up for a Sports Massage course at the fabulous Cotswold Academy in Cirencester. They are nationally renowned providers of training for massage therapists. The course also required an Anatomy and Physiology qualification which was fascinating and demanding.
I quickly realised that massage was something that I love to do, and I was grateful for lots of family and friends who were willing to help me practice. I have since undertaken more courses to continue broadening my skills.
My aim is to ease and soothe your aching muscles, to make you feel better. Along the way, I will show you some helpful techniques you can use on yourself.

ABOUT MASSAGE
We all know when a muscle is sore or niggling us. We might do some stretches, take painkillers, apply bandaging or tape, we might just give it a little rub. What we tend not to do is check that our muscles and fascia are functioning as they should.
Muscles are bundles of fibres, like cable, which allow us to move and work. Fascia is an amazing connective tissue which encases everything inside us. It gives our bodies structure and allows for smooth movement.
Muscle fibres and fascia sometimes get sticky or knotty. A small amount of unremedied damage can soon cause problems, when our muscles and fascia don’t move as they should. This can be painful in itself but can also have significant knock-on effects elsewhere in our body, which in turn leads to more muscular dysfunction and pain.
Massage allows me to find and work on muscles and fascia, not just in the area causing you pain, but elsewhere. It effectively breaks down the knots, allowing the fibres and fascia to move freely again. In combination with good physio, exercise and maybe anti-inflammatory pain medications, you’ll feel much better.
Longstanding problems can take time to solve, so I cannot guarantee that you’ll be totally fixed after a single session. However, your body’s ability to move freely will be significantly improved. We'll discuss post-treatment action you can take to help you feel better in between appointments as well as ongoing treatment options to resolve issues in the longer term.
