Deep Tissue Massage

DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE

Deep tissue massage uses slow, firm strokes and pressure to help muscle and fascia to move more freely.  By working on tightness, knots and adhesions, you will have improved flexibility, reduced pain, and better recovery from sports injuries.  This treatment will take place on the massage couch or in a seated position on a massage chair.  The massage will be tailored to you, taking time to address other sore areas as we find them.

INDIAN HEAD MASSAGE

Indian Head Massage is a holistic therapy, part of the Ayurvedic system, focusing on the head, neck, shoulders, and upper back. It helps to alleviate stress and tension and is a wonderful way to relax.

This treatment takes place in a seated position.

'M' TECHNIQUE

The "M" Technique is a registered method of structured touch, designed for relaxation and comfort.

Originally designed as a gentle therapy for hospital patients, it is excellent for anyone who is unable to tolerate traditional massage.

It is supremely relaxing and involves specific, repetitive movements with very gentle, consistent pressure.  We work only at the skin level, with no muscle massage at all.  The set process of touch uses skin receptors to send signals to the brain for relaxation.

TMJ (JAW) MASSAGE

The jaw can be highly problematic, due to teeth clenching, teeth grinding, an impact trauma or even dental issues.  It is also an area of the body which holds a lot of emotional pain. As a result, the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) can become very stiff, sore and restricted, which can in turn cause associated problems in the head and neck.

By working on muscles in and around the jaw, and in the cranium and neck, the tensions can be eased and movement improved.  The treatment includes very gentle work inside the mouth and hygienic gloves are worn for this.

CRANIAL MASSAGE

The cranium (skull) can hold tension which in turn can cause migraines, headaches, neck aches, earaches, even tinnitus.  Cranial massage is a very gentle, light-touch therapy that releases tension and improves movement.  It is a non-invasive technique, which gently feels for subtle rhythms.

The treatment can be helpful for anybody who experiences headaches, earaches, sinus problems, tinnitus and jaw problems.  It is very calm and quiet, allowing you to relax fully.
